Basic troubleshooting

What to do...

Follow these simple steps for troubleshooting help:
 1

Reset your phone

Phones sometimes just need a break- turning them off and back on is all you need to do:

  • Turn the phone off by pressing and holding the power button.
  • Remove the battery and wait for a few seconds
  • Replace the battery and turn the phone back on

 1

Clean the SIM / memory card

Sometimes dust can get between the SIM and the phone causing communication issues:

  • Turn the phone off and remove the SIM card
  • Clean the gold connectors on the SIM with a clean lint-free cloth. Be careful SIMs can be fragile
  • Replace the battery and turn the phone on without the SIM
  • Turn the phone off, replace the SIM and restart the phone

 3

Update your Nokia software

  • It could be a software issue, so make sure you have the latest software for your phone and sign up for the My Nokia service. You'll receive free tips and tricks, and support for your phone. You'll also receive notifications when new software updates are available
  • You can find answers to troubleshooting problems in detail, on Nokia's support pages.

Did you set up your email and connection settings properly?
